Throughout my career, I've been interested in the power of New Zealand business to do well and do good at the same time.

That belief has been a guiding thread across thirty years working in banking, the arts, managed funds, government and the not-for-profit sector, and it's what brought me to ESG and sustainability consulting.

The connective tissue, not a separate project

I founded Blue CSR because I kept seeing the same gap, businesses that genuinely wanted to do the right thing but didn't know where to start, who to trust, or how to make it credible, not just internally, but to the banks, investors and supply chain partners increasingly asking for evidence.

Because here's what I know from thirty years working alongside NZ business. ESG rarely feels urgent until it does. But it already sits inside all of those conversations, the rising costs, insurance risk, compliance, supply chain pressure, and procurement requirements that now include environmental statements.

My work starts with stakeholder mapping, understanding who your business is accountable to and what they're actually asking for, and building a clear, honest pathway through to useful measurement. I'm not a deep ESG data specialist, and I don't pretend to be. What I bring is thirty years of knowing how organisations actually work, and how to help them build something real rather than something that just looks good on paper.

Blue CSR is based in Auckland. I work with businesses typically 20–150 staff, where the leadership team knows sustainability matters but hasn't had the time or the right person to make it happen.

How I use AI, and what that means for your business

AI tools are part of how I work. I use them to research, to draft, to sense-check frameworks, and to move faster on the analytical groundwork that underpins client advice. I think it's worth being transparent about that.

Here's what I want you to know.

   Your information stays with me.

   I have opted out of data training on the AI tools I use, which means my conversations are not used to train AI models. I review these settings regularly as platform policies evolve. I do not input identifiable personal data or sensitive commercial information into AI environments.

   AI doesn’t replace my judgement, it supports it.

   Every piece of analysis, every framework recommendation, every metric or regulatory reference I deliver is verified by me before it reaches you. AI helps me work more efficiently. The professional accountability for what I give you is mine.

3. 03

   I’m honest about what I don’t know.

   Where I’m uncertain, I say so. Where a question requires specialist expertise beyond my scope (emissions calculations, legal-grade supply chain audits, formal assurance) I tell you, and I bring in the right person.
